Thanks for the update. It is great to adopt rather than make new, the risks are lower, there are already too many people on the planet, and it will give the child a great start.

We are in Mendo and still fighting health issues so a visit from us would be little fun. Getting back to mendoland was great as the high temps in SB were already too much. We spent 6 wks there going to docs and cleaning in prep for our new housesitter. I threw away 30 boxes of old files and still have another large batch to go thru and toss. Sorry to see all that effort go out to recycle but I haven't looked at it in the last 7-8 yrs since retiring. Aside from the recent award from the AAIE we felt like no one knew we left the scene. Except for one colleague have not had one offer of a project. And that is OK since we just ran out of steam to keep on pushing the stone up the hill, so to speak. Now we battle the forces of evolution, which have no compassion and just toss the old bones on the heap to decay. I can see why people believe in a god but that illusion seems false since he-she-whatever-it-is, if it is anything, is not compassionate. And what good is anything without that. Certainly our current government is not compassionate - having killed well over 50,000 Iraqis so far. The war costs 1 billion per week. Note that there is never enough money for education or health care, but always $ for war. Enough, you know who I am and I will not forget you either. Good wishes from us, b&h
